People of Faith for Restorative Justice (PFRJ)

(formerly Joining Hands Network, an arm of the Restorative Justice Mediation Program)

January 2006 News Letter

NEW WEB PAGE

Much appreciation to James Boyd of First Lutheran Church for constructing and maintaining, pro bono, a new web page for the Restorative Justice Mediation Program (RJMP).  Mr. Boyd   is a member of RJMP’s  People of Faith for Restorative Justice Committee and as such is providing this web page.  It contains much information about Restorative Justice in general, and when completed it will become an interactive tool providing for credit card donations to the organization.  Find it at www.sdrjmp.org   .

As Mr. Boyd reminds us, a web page is only as useful as the number of clicks it gets. He asks us all to announce it in every way possible.  Churches and other groups may link it to their own web pages.

RJMP’s prior web page by Hank Imus has served us well with good coverage of the Victim Offender Reconciliation Program (VORP), including programs beyond our local area.    You are still able to find it at www.sdrjmp.home.at.net.  Much of its information is being transferred to the new site.  Many thanks to its webmaster Hank Imus of Pacific Beach Presbyterian Church, who has donated his time to maintaining the site ever since its inception

PRESENTATIONS

RJMP will make a presentation at Pacific Beach Presbyterian Church on March 15 at 12:45 in Calvin Hall.

RJMP will make a presentation to Church Women United on April 7 at 10:00 a.m.  The meeting will be held at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 4011 Ohio Street.

BOARD POSITIONS

Interested, or know someone who is?  With several resignations from the Board of Directors, there are vacancies to fill.  Applications can be made to pearlhartz@att.net for further information.   It is gratifying to know that both Bob Shaw of St. David’s Episcopal Church and David Brauner of Westminster Presbyterian Church offer to remain connected and supportive.
